Hungarian WebWineWriting Contest

It is time to participate in the Hungarian WebWineWriting Contest 2022.

How does the oppotunity of winning a 4 days all-inclusive trip to Hungary sound to you?

For the fifth year running hungarianwines.eu are organising their WebWineWriting Contest and this year three highly interesting categories have been chosen for you to write about:

The Hárslevelű variety is widely known for playing second fiddle to Furmint in Tokaj, but the variety is much more than that – and this is what this category is about.

Sparkling wines are as popular as ever and unfiltered sparklings (not being disgorged) is the highly interesting topic of this category.

This year a special category is devoted to Polish writers to submit entries of the Polish-Hungarian vinous friendship.

And if that is not enough, this year a brand new fourth category is introduced:

Submit a video-recorded wine description of a wine of your own choice – only does it have to be a Hungarian wine or from a Hungarian grape variety. Too often, wine descriptions can be quite boring, and this is your chance to prove, that it doesn’t have to be this way at all. This should be a really fun category to try your luck in.

Over the years the WebWineWriting Contest has continued to gain and „last year 67 articles were submitted from several countries, from India to the USA”, organiser Ágnes Németh explains.

If you have never previously participated in this contest, this year is a wonderful time to show the world, what your are capable of and to have your article judged by very competent people such as Rose Murray Brown MW, Péter Tüü, Charlie Arturaola and Andreas Lemieux.

The submitted articles will be judged by the judges of each category and three articles will enter the finals, where the readers will be the judges, as the number of votes will determine the winner of each category.

This year, part of the prize for each category winner is an invitation to the award ceremony, which this year will take place in the stunningly beautiful Pannonhalma Archabbey Winery.

Entries have to be submitted any time from now and until July 25th – and you can read much more about the contest, the jurors and of course the prizes at https://hungarianwines.eu/web-wine-writing-2022/
