Mondial des Vins Blancs 2026 – and the very first European Red & Rosé Wine Contest

Mondial des Vins Blancs 2026 will take place on March 14th and 15th in the beautiful city of Strasbourg.

Danes may still remember Agger Vin winning a Gold medal in 2025 and this is such a great opportunity for Danish and Swedish wineries alike to shine at the prestigious Mondial des Vins Blancs, one of the only global competitions dedicated exclusively to white wines. Sixty international experts will be present, offering a high-visibility platform for Scandinavian producers to showcase their excellence, diversity and forward-looking winemaking.

The interest for cool climate wines is definitely there, as shown by last winter’s Cool Climate Summit in Copenhagen. Now, let’s build on the momentum!

Strasbourg Events always strive to innovate. Last year no- and low alcohol wines were successfully included and this year, the very first edition of European Red & Rosé Wine Contest, a competition devoted to reds and rosés from EU members as well as Council of Europe members.

Beware! This is an incredibly serious competition under the patronage of OIV and member of the VINOFED.
Here, no more than 33% of the submitted wines can win a medal. So, every medal won is a huge achievement and medal winners are mentioned at winesearcher.com, granting producers plenty of publicity.

A world’s first is the Les Franc de Pied, a prize honouring the ungrafted vines, as ungrafted vines are rare and naked expressions of terroir without the addition of American rootstocks, which became very much house-hold as a result of the phylloxera crisis from the mid-1800s and forward.

Apart from Les Franc de Pied, a vast number of prizes are awarded, including the best orange wine, first participation, best wine made from an indigenous variety and many more.

Registrations are open for Mondial des Vins Blancs 2026 through February 10th 2026 – let me know, if I can assist you during the registration process.
