The 2024 edition of Le Mondial des Vins Blancs is due mid-March in Strasbourg.
The competition is the only global competition, which is entirely dedicated to the diversity of the world’s white wines.
Since its birth as Riesling du Monde in Strasbourg back in 1998, the competition has been recognizing the great white wines from around the world.
In 2024, the competition is scheduled for March 17th -18th at the Congress Centre Strasbourg in France.
Honouring world class whites
Le Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg is organized under the patronage of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) and is also a member of the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits (VinoFed).
The contest covers white wines from 12 categories including 10 categories for specific grape varieties as well as 2 ones for blends and any white wine grape variety of the world.
For the 2024 competition, sparkling wines will enter the competition for the very first time.
In line with OIV rules, no more than 30% Gold and Silver medals are to be awarded in each category and in 2023 the competition received well over 600 entries from across the world and 200 medals were awarded.
At the 2023 competition three favourites were recognized: “Indigenous grape variety”, “First entry” and “White wine with maceration”. Those prices were awarded to producers from Czech Republic, Greece and Ukraine respectively.
Le Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg awards the prestigious awards Le Grand Prix du Jury and Le Trophée VINOFED and Furthermore, in each of the 12 categories the best dry white is recognized and the 2023 Le Grand Prix du Jury was awarded to Alsatian producer Domaine Xavier Muller. Le Trophée VINOFED was won by B/V Vinarstvi AS from the Czech Republic
The Wine Trade Fair
In 2024 an international Wine Trade Fair is added to the programme and scheduled for March 17th to 20th. Among the 2024 exhibitors will be award winning producers from the 2023 Le Mondial des Vins Blancs, including the Grand Jury Trophy as well as Grand Gold medalists.
